In this video, I want to talk about a question I received concerning gallstones and cholesterol. Do gallstones come from high cholesterol?

True: Gallstones are made from cholesterol.
True: You must, at the same time, be bile deficient.

In order to form a gallstone, you have to have this supersaturation of cholesterol. Bile helps keep cholesterol broken up into small particles. Without bile, a gallstone can form.

Once you know what causes a decrease in bile, you will also know how to get rid of your gallstones or even prevent them.

Causes of low quantities of bile in the body:

• High estrogen
• High cortisol
• High insulin
• Liver/gallbladder damage
• Low folate
• Low magnesium
• Antacids
• Low-fat diets

What can help decrease the risk of gallstones?

• Taking bile salts
• Higher fat diets like healthy keto (ketogenic diet)

  1. I’ve been taking your gb formula 6 days. Big changes already. I didn’t want to take anything nonvegan with animal bile but this was my last attempt before removal after years of holistic not working. I’d also stopped low fat this month.

  2. I was 15 years old when i had first attack of Gallstones, i was very slim and had good food (this was in mid 70s) the pain was excuriting i would roll the floor with pain it was like labour! contractions pain getting stronger and stronger then would stay for hours! It took docs until i was 31 to find reason for this terrible pain that came and went over the years. But am 58 now and thank god have not had pain in years.

  3. If you are having a gallbladder attract drink a large glass of apple cider vinegar with water. In 20 minutes you'll be fine.

  4. Dr. Berg, thank you for your videos. I have a question that I believe you will have an answer for. My 17 year old son has his gallbladder removed a couple of years ago. Now he has been diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi malfunction. What is your expert advise to help him recover from this dysfunction? Please help. Thank you

  5. thank you dr what is stones in the liver whats it formed with is it cholesterol what are the reason for these stones

  6. Your video on menopause symptoms was my revelation, and salvation. I passed two gallstones three years apart, no doctor would tell me but they offered plenty of medications and surgeries for something they couldn't diagnose. I was plant based according to the latest findings and it almost killed me. Thank you for your videos!

  7. Can anything actually get rid of the gallstones? I was told I needed to have my gallbladder removed after having a stone stuck in the bile duct, very painful! I declined and check myself out of the hospital because I was no longer in pain. After that last attack, it started doing the low carb diet and I've never had another attack, but occasionally after eating high-fat, I get gallbladder pain. I sure would like to get rid of those stones.
Thanks for all your great info!

  8. Does anyone else randomly make too much bile while having no gallbladder and doing keto? I don't take bile salts. I do have his gallbladder formula but haven't been taking it .

  9. My gallbladder was removed due to pullups, I saw them on the ultrasound. One was big! I was told these were considered stones.
I'm not having any problems with Keto. My nutritionist has me on a few Standard Process supps to thin the bile from the liver.

  10. is it means that the bad fat which is saturated fats cause stones?
but the good fats prevents us from having stones the unsaturated fats pls let me know if that's correct so everyone will know also

  11. "Helps decrease your risk of gallstones" NOT to be confused with "If you already have gallstones do this or avoid this"
If you already have gallstones and are trying to avoid surgery, eating a high fat diet even when taking bile salts still results in gallbladder attacks and or a trip to the ER because you have had a stone stuck for 24 hours and can't stop throwing up. I wish someone would talk to the people that are going through this and trying to avoid surgery instead of advising those of you that don't even have gallstones.
